Prophetische Kunst: Das Volk, das im Finstern wandelt
Schon länger habe ich überlegt, einmal Weihnachtskarten zu entwerfen. Vor Jahren hatte ich da mal zwei Motive in schwarz-weiß, die ich mit dem Kopierer vervielfältigt hatte. Jetzt habe ich versucht, mal mit farbigen Varianten zu starten. Ich bin mit der Umsetzung noch nicht ganz zufrieden.
Es gibt eine Bibelstelle, die mich immer wieder sehr berührt. Sie spricht mich vor allem an Weihnachten und in der dunklen Jahreszeit besonders an.
„Das Volk, das im Finstern wandelt, sieht ein großes Licht, und über denen, die da wohnen im finstern Lande, scheint es hell.“ Jesaja 9, 1
Was für eine wunderbare Botschaft! Gottes Licht bricht hinein in unsere finstere Welt, scheint hell über allen Umständen, die voller Dunkelheit und Herzenskälte, Hoffnungslosigkeit und Ausweglosigkeit sind. Die Botschaft ist klar: Egal wie finster die Nacht ist, wie undurchdringlich sie zu scheint, Gottes Licht ist stärker und dringt durch. Dringt auch zu dir und mir durch – und macht es hell!

For a long time I was thinking about doing christmas cards. Years ago I had to motives in black and white I multiplied with a photcopier. Now I start with versions in color. I am not quite satisfied with the result right now.
There is a scripture that touches me every time. It speaks to me especially during the season and the dark time of the year.
„The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. “ Isaiah 9:2
What a wonderful message that is! God’s light breaks into our dark world, shines bright in every circumstances, that are full of darkness, coldness of hearts, hopelessness and desperation. The message is clear: no matter how deep and dark the night is, how impenetrable it seems to be, God’s light always will be stronger and will come through! It will reach even to you and me – and brightens everything up!
